EDUCATORS

The FACES Webinar

Did you know that only 11 percent of teachers say their professional development is highly relevant to their students' needs? This is particularly concerning given that teachers rank students as the greatest factor impacting their job morale. (Source: Walton Family Foundation-Gallup Teaching for Tomorrow, 2025.)

This webinar addresses this issue by providing an overview of the FACES framework. Discussed in Dr. Olatunji's bestselling book, Don't Let School Get in the Way of Education, FACES (Fun, Affirmation, Challenge, Expression & Success) offers a new paradigm and strategy for making the educational process more enjoyable and effective for both educators and students.

Student Interests Survey

A survey is one of the easiest ways to learn about your students. As explained in Chapter 6 of Dr. Olatunji's book, Don't Let School Get in the Way of Education, this one is designed so that your lesson plans will reflect the interests of your students. When that happens, they not only are more likely to engage in your lessons but also to learn more. This survey is intended for students at the middle and high school levels.

To help you stay focused as the primary advocate for your child, get your copy of "The Parent Declaration," featured at the end of Chapter 5 in  Don't Let School Get in the Way of Education. Choose one of the three document styles that you like best. Then display it in your child's room or add it to your personal journal as a constant reminder of your promise to them. Makes perfect as family memorabilia!

Climate Survey

As an administrator, you are at least two levels removed from students. But your awareness of their perceptions can significantly affect your effectiveness. Do you know how your students feel about their school experience? Do you care? In Dr. Olatunji's book, Don't Let School Get in the Way of Education, this concern is referred to as the "perspective gap" between youth and adults. The survey can help you to determine if there is a gap and what to do about it.
